"Thank God For Golf!"
TO SUM IT ALL UP !!!
The TGFG Golf Club became a Charity Non-profit Organization in March of 2014 to help other community organizations in need. We initially started out as the St. Jude Catholic Church Golf Club in 2013 under the guidance of Fr. Joseph Diaz. In 2014 we became the “Thank God for Golf” (TGFG for short) Golf Club. This name was given to us by Fr. Joe who is a Filipino Catholic priest. He was also an avid golfer who encouraged ordinary golfers to become an organized golf club. The initial purpose of TGFG was to meet people, make friends, have fun and know the basics about golf. Eventually we believed our organizational efforts could expand into developing monies to help the poor and homeless.
Our Golf Club plays 10 regular monthly golf “club plays” on a designated Saturday which is scheduled one year in advance. Club golf is played at various golf courses from Pearl Country Club to the Westside golf courses ranging from easy to difficult. One (1) Charity Shotgun Golf Tournament Event is held at the Coral Creek Golf Course in Ewa Beach in August. Our December End-of-Year Membership Appreciation Mini-Golf Tournament held at the Hawaii Prince Golf Course. (The Christmas Luncheon will follow at Molly’s BBQ Restaurant at the Barber’s Point Golf Course.) We have golf reservations up to 44 players. We welcome all level of players, family and friends. You don’t have to be a club member to play. Guest players are invited. Come and join us!
As a result of our most recent shotgun tournament, the “Love Your Neighbor” Charity Golf Tournament, which was held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Coral Creek Golf Course, St. Jude Catholic Church in Kapolei will receive a total of $12,744.81 to support the Outreach Ministry in its “outreach” mission to feed the poor and homeless. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of Hurricane Harvey, reaching out across the continental USA to those in desperate need. The success of this golf tournament depended on your prayers and continuous support. Thank you very much for all you have done to make this charity event come true.
Our journey began with faith, hope and trust. It ends with love and generosity! Thanks be to God.
Our Sincerest Aloha to all those who have supported us over the years,
The TGFG Golf Club

2017 “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR” CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Thank you for spreading the news! The “Love Your Neighbor”, charity golf fundraiser event which was held on Friday, August 25 at the Coral Creek Golf Course in Ewa. It was a fun and successful ‘Fall’ (autumn) event. A beautiful day! Our goal was to raise funds to reach out and help those in need. This year’s charity golf tournament recipient was the Outreach Ministry at
St. Jude Catholic Church. As a result, a profit of $12,816.00 was given to support two much needed causes, St. Jude Outreach Ministry in Kapolei, and to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, TX. May these much needed funds reach out to friends, family and people in the community (near and far) who are having the most day-to-day difficulties living with only bare necessities.
This was the 3rd Charity Golf Tournament hosted by the TGFG Golf Club. TGFG stands for “Thank God for Golf”. Volunteers, players, Fr. Khanh Hoang and Fr. Joseph Raj was there at the player’s check-in where BBQ, lots of fun games, sweepstakes, raffles, great prizes, social contacts, picture taking and live music happened on the lanai. A traditional Awards Banquet followed the golf game to help cool down the players, to welcome guest spouses, to feast on lechon roast pig, relish on delectable buffet foods, to enjoy the camaraderie in a “live DJ” atmosphere, and to present prizes and applaud the winners. There was even a chance to win a $10K Hole in One prize which no one won. However two happy players won prizes, 1 Miura Blade Prototype, 1 Lamborghini Irons.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS!
